About the Opportunity
Our client is a global enterprise infrastructure technology business delivering solutions for some of the world’s most demanding computing environments.
Its technology spans Enterprise Linux, AI infrastructure, high-performance computing (HPC), automation and cloud-native orchestration, supporting major enterprises, government organisations, research institutions and customers operating within highly regulated industries.
They are now looking for a Senior Solutions Architect to support continued growth across Japan.
Working as the senior technical counterpart to the Account Executive, you will play a key role throughout the customer journey, from technical discovery and solution design through proof of concept, deployment and adoption.

Requirements
You will be a senior customer-facing technical professional with strong experience in solutions architecture, technical pre-sales or systems engineering, combined with deep expertise in Linux-based enterprise infrastructure. Essential skills and experience include:
• 7+ years’ experience in technical pre-sales, solutions architecture, systems engineering or a closely related role
• Expert-level Linux knowledge, ideally within complex enterprise or mission-critical environments
• Strong experience with containerisation, systems integration and modern infrastructure architectures
• Experience supporting HPC, AI/ML, hybrid cloud or other performance-intensive environments
• Proven experience working alongside enterprise sales teams on complex technical opportunities
• Strong capability across technical discovery, solution architecture and proof-of-concept delivery
• Experience delivering technical demonstrations, presentations and workshops to enterprise customers
• Ability to engage confidently with both technical specialists and senior customer stakeholders
• Experience supporting customers through evaluation, deployment, adoption and scaling
• Strong understanding of open-source technologies and infrastructure
• Ability to work comfortably across the whiteboard, command line and customer environment
• Fluent Japanese and strong written and spoken English
• A collaborative and customer-focused approach, with the ability to work effectively across Sales, Engineering, partners and customers
Experience working with system integrators, resellers or technology partners would also be highly advantageous.

Role & Responsibilities
As Senior Solutions Architect, you will take technical ownership of opportunities across Japan, working closely with Sales, customers, partners and Engineering to design solutions that address complex infrastructure requirements. Your responsibilities will include:
• Partnering with the Account Executive to understand customer requirements, technical challenges and business objectives
• Leading technical discovery sessions and translating requirements into appropriate solution architectures
• Designing solutions using the company’s enterprise infrastructure technology portfolio
• Delivering product demonstrations, technical presentations and hands-on workshops
• Leading and supporting proof-of-concept deployments and technical evaluations
• Advising customers on infrastructure integration, deployment architecture and performance optimisation
• Supporting customers throughout evaluation, implementation, adoption and expansion
• Providing technical guidance and enablement to local system integrators, resellers and technology partners
• Supporting partner teams through technical training and architecture guidance
• Working closely with Engineering to communicate customer requirements, technical feedback and product priorities
• Helping align customer needs with the organisation’s product capabilities and technology roadmap
• Acting as a trusted technical adviser throughout complex enterprise sales engagements

Additional Details
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Solutions Architect to take a highly visible role within a business operating at the forefront of Enterprise Linux, HPC, AI infrastructure and open-source technology.
You will work with some of the most technically sophisticated organisations in Japan, solving complex infrastructure challenges while combining deep technical architecture with consultative customer engagement.
The role is fully remote within Japan and offers US$160-180K plus an excellent benefits package, including equity, flexible PTO, healthcare and pension provision.
