About the Opportunity
Our client is an award-winning, venture-backed AgriTech business using technology to improve livestock care and help farmers make better day-to-day decisions.
They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Web to help scale their platform and deliver intuitive, polished digital experiences for customers operating within animal agriculture.
This is a high-ownership role combining strong React and Next.js engineering expertise with responsibility for the platform’s UI/UX design and user experience. As the business does not currently have a dedicated designer, you will help define how the web application looks, feels and functions, while continuing to deliver robust, maintainable front-end code.
You will join a collaborative, fast-moving engineering team focused on solving practical, real-world problems and delivering technology that has a meaningful impact.

Requirements
You will be an experienced front-end or web software engineer with the technical depth to build scalable applications and the design judgement to create polished, intuitive user experiences. You will bring:
• 5+ years’ software engineering experience, with a strong focus on web or front-end development
• At least 2 years’ commercial experience with React and Next.js
• Strong experience designing and developing modern front-end applications
• A track record of delivering polished, intuitive and user-friendly interfaces
• The ability to make effective UI/UX decisions with limited dedicated design support
• Strong knowledge of responsive design, accessibility and modern CSS
• Experience developing reusable components, front-end patterns or component libraries
• A good understanding of front-end architecture, application performance and maintainable code
• Experience deploying, monitoring and supporting applications through Vercel
• Confidence translating product requirements and customer needs into clear, effective interfaces
• Strong technical English communication, including the ability to explain decisions, discuss trade-offs and defend technical recommendations
• A proactive, ownership-led approach and the confidence to tackle complex technical and design challenges
• Experience working effectively within a collaborative, fast-moving product or startup environment
Experience with Zustand, Figma, design systems, component libraries or production AI/ML solutions would be advantageous.
The wider technology environment includes Next.js, React, Zustand, Vercel, Python, SQL, dbt, Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Firebase, Flutter and Dart.
Candidates must be currently based in Mexico, comfortable working to U.S. Central Time schedules and hold, or previously have held and be able to renew, a B-1/B-2 U.S. visitor visa.

Role & Responsibilities
As the Senior Software Engineer – Web, you will take ownership of both the technical development and overall user experience of the company’s web platform. Your responsibilities will include:
• Designing, developing and maintaining front-end applications using React and Next.js
• Defining and improving the platform’s UI/UX patterns, visual consistency and interaction design
• Translating product requirements into intuitive, accessible and well-designed interfaces
• Building reusable components and helping establish a consistent component library or design system
• Ensuring the application performs effectively across devices, screen sizes and connection speeds
• Improving front-end performance, accessibility, reliability and maintainability
• Deploying, monitoring and supporting web applications through Vercel
• Collaborating closely with engineering, product and customer-facing teams
• Using customer feedback and product insight to improve workflows and usability
• Contributing to front-end architecture and longer-term technical direction
• Reviewing code and supporting high engineering standards across the team
• Mentoring colleagues and sharing front-end and UI/UX best practice
• Taking ownership of technical and design challenges from initial concept through to production
