Requirements
We are seeking a technically strong, product-minded engineer with deep full-stack expertise and the ability to build robust, production-grade systems.
Essential experience and attributes
• 5+ years commercial full-stack development experience, with a strong portfolio of production-grade applications
• Advanced knowledge of Python, React, and TypeScript
• Proven experience building UI components from scratch, not just leveraging third-party libraries
• Deep understanding of modern software architecture principles
• Strong knowledge of RESTful and/or gRPC API design
• Experience designing and integrating clean, well-structured APIs in collaboration with backend and platform teams
• Strong understanding of system performance, scalability, and reliability considerations
• Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering and product teams
• Passion for user experience, with strong attention to visual and interaction detail
• Experience writing clean, well-tested, well-documented code following engineering best practice
Candidate profile (important)
• Background from strong academic institutions preferred
• Experience at high-quality, well-regarded companies
• Stable and consistent career history – preference for candidates with clear progression and minimal short tenures
• Demonstrated ownership mindset and accountability for delivered outcomes
Role & Responsibilities
What you’ll do
• Design, build, and maintain scalable, reusable user interfaces using React and TypeScript, alongside robust backend services
• Architect and implement performant, reliable, and maintainable systems across the entire stack
• Partner closely with backend and platform engineers to design, influence, and integrate clean, well-structured APIs
• Own features end-to-end – from technical design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and long-term maintenance
• Participate in solution design discussions, code reviews, and mentoring of junior engineers
• Optimise application performance, reliability, and user experience across web and mobile environments
• Contribute to platform-wide engineering standards and best practices
