About the Opportunity
Our client is an established global technology business specialising in public safety and intelligent transportation solutions, with a particular focus on improving road safety through advanced automated traffic enforcement technology.
With more than 50 years’ experience and over 13,000 systems deployed internationally, the company works closely with public authorities and transportation organisations to reduce accidents, improve driver behaviour and make roads safer.
They are now looking for an experienced North America Sales Manager to drive growth across the USA and wider North American market.
This is a senior, highly autonomous sales position combining new business development, strategic account engagement, channel development and complex government-led sales. You will take ownership of regional sales strategy, develop relationships across the public sector and partner ecosystem, and secure significant long-term contracts.

Requirements
You will be an accomplished B2B/B2G sales professional with a strong record of developing and closing complex technology or infrastructure opportunities involving government agencies, public authorities and multiple stakeholders. Essential skills and experience include:
• Significant experience in enterprise, government or public-sector sales
• Strong background within Public Safety, Road Safety, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) or a closely related technology or infrastructure market
• Proven success developing and closing complex, high-value government-led contracts
• Experience managing lengthy and sophisticated sales cycles involving public authorities, procurement teams, technical stakeholders and senior decision-makers
• Strong new business development capability with evidence of building markets, territories or revenue streams
• Experience developing and executing regional sales and go-to-market strategies
• Strong understanding of pricing, positioning, competitive strategy and commercial negotiation
• Experience building and managing relationships with distributors, system integrators, resellers and strategic partners
• Ability to operate effectively across complex multi-stakeholder ecosystems
• Strong commercial judgement combined with a hands-on approach to opportunity development and closing
• Excellent presentation, negotiation and senior stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work independently within a fully remote, geographically dispersed international organisation
• Willingness to travel across North America as required

Role & Responsibilities
As North America Sales Manager, you will take ownership of commercial growth across the region, identifying new opportunities and developing the relationships and partnerships required to convert them into long-term business. Your responsibilities will include:
• Developing and executing the North America sales strategy
• Identifying, targeting and securing new business opportunities across the region
• Managing the complete sales cycle from initial market development through to negotiation and contract award
• Building relationships with government agencies, municipalities, transportation authorities and other public-sector organisations
• Developing strong senior-level relationships with key decision-makers and influencers
• Leading complex commercial discussions involving pricing, positioning, procurement and contract negotiation
• Building and expanding a regional ecosystem of distributors, integrators, resellers and strategic partners
• Working with partners to identify opportunities and develop effective joint go-to-market strategies
• Developing account and territory plans to maximise market penetration and revenue growth
• Monitoring competitor activity, market trends and emerging opportunities
• Acting as the voice of the North American market, providing insight that helps influence product, commercial and go-to-market strategy
• Working closely with international sales, product, technical and leadership teams to support major opportunities
• Maintaining accurate pipeline visibility, forecasting and sales reporting
• Representing the organisation at relevant customer meetings, industry events and conferences
