Requirements
We are looking for a high-calibre engineer who enjoys delivering end-to-end solutions and can move confidently across frontend, backend, and infrastructure.
Essential experience and attributes
• 5+ years commercial full-stack experience building and shipping web applications
• Strong hands-on React, TypeScript, and Python
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design and integration patterns
• Practical experience with cloud infrastructure: AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Strong fundamentals in data modelling and designing for maintainability
• Comfortable switching between frontend and backend tasks day-to-day
• Proven ability to deliver production software (discovery to deployment to iteration)
• Confident communicator who can engage a range of stakeholders and translate needs into clear engineering outcomes
• Strong product mindset: focused on business value, usability, speed, and clarity
Candidate profile (important)
• Background from good companies and ideally good schools
• Stable career history – preference for candidates with non-choppy tenure and clear progression
• Evidence of ownership: takes accountability for outcomes, quality, and follow-through
Role & Responsibilities
What you’ll do
• Build custom internal web applications end-to-end, leveraging an internal component library to solve specific user problems
• Take ownership of features from concept to deployment and maintenance
• Run stakeholder discovery to understand business needs and define the right solution, owning the lifecycle from discovery to delivery, including:
o Problem discovery and defining what the solution should look like
o Creating a clear engineering design and approach
o Implementing the solution once reviewed
o Deployment, iteration, and long-term maintenance
• Work across the stack to meet unique user needs
o Spin up new services where required
o Use the internal component library to present information clearly and effectively
• Make pragmatic technical decisions optimised for speed, clarity, and user impact
• Iterate quickly based on feedback rather than over-engineering generalised abstractions
• Build highly usable applications with a strong focus on UX, reliability, and stakeholder outcomes
