About the Opportunity

Our client is a dynamic, family-owned premium spirits supplier with an eclectic and fast-growing portfolio of distinctive brands.
With a strong international footprint, the business works closely with importer, distributor and key account partners to build brand presence, increase distribution, secure menu placements, drive depletions and activate premium spirits brands across the market.
They are now seeking an Brand Ambassador & Market Activation Specialist to support growth across British Columbia, with a particular focus on Vancouver and the surrounding market.
This is a market development role, not a traditional direct sales territory position. You will not be directly selling product in the usual sense. Instead, you will be responsible for ensuring the business is winning within the distributor network, gaining focus from partner teams, developing key account relationships, improving brand visibility and driving commercial performance through strong market execution.

Requirements

You will be an experienced spirits, beverage, premium consumer goods or hospitality-led sales professional with a strong understanding of distributor management, key account development and brand activation. You will ideally bring:
• Strong experience within premium spirits, wine, beverages, FMCG, or premium consumer brands
• Proven ability to influence and motivate importer, distributor, wholesale or agency partners
• Strong understanding of how to win within a distributor-led market structure
• Experience driving distribution, menu placements, depletions, visibility, pricing and merchandising standards
• Strong knowledge of on-premise and off-premise channels, including bars, restaurants, hospitality groups, retailers and key accounts
• Experience supporting brand activation, sampling, demos, POS, displays, consumer engagement and trade programmes
• Ability to build strong relationships with distributor sales teams, senior managers, marketing teams, key buyers and account stakeholders
• Commercial awareness, with the ability to track KPIs, monitor market performance and identify growth opportunities
• Comfortable spending significant time in the field, surveying the market and ensuring brand standards are delivered
• A proactive, entrepreneurial and relationship-led approach, with the ability to work independently across British Columbia

Role & Responsibilities

As Brand Ambassador & Market Activation Specialist, you will be responsible for developing the British Columbia market by strengthening distributor engagement, growing distribution, activating key accounts and building the brand across both on-premise and off-premise channels. Your responsibilities will include:
• Managing and developing the importer and distributor relationship, ensuring the portfolio receives focus, attention and momentum
• Working within the distributor structure to support, direct and motivate sales, marketing and merchandising teams
• Helping the distributor network understand brand priorities, commercial objectives, activation plans and market opportunities
• Supporting the Regional Market Director with the development and execution of the annual territory and marketing plan
• Driving increased distribution, depletions, menu placements, visibility and account activation across British Columbia
• Building strong relationships with key on-premise and off-premise accounts, including bars, restaurants, hospitality groups, retailers and regional buyers
• Working with distributor teams to monitor inventory, SKU performance, depletions and out-of-stock risks
• Supporting the planning and execution of pricing, shelf positioning, displays, POS, menu features, adverts and promotional activity
• Implementing creative consumer activation activity, including sampling, demos, retail programmes and account-level brand initiatives
• Spending regular time in market to assess distribution, pricing, merchandising, POS, displays, menus and programme execution
• Participating in distributor planning, commercial and marketing meetings
• Supporting budget planning and ensuring activity is commercially focused and effectively managed
• Ensuring all SKUs are positioned correctly and in line with brand standards
• Delivering agreed quantitative and qualitative KPIs across the British Columbia market
